This was Juan's overriding thought as he listened to the Marion County Probation officer mandating that he attend the EmberWood Center outpatient treatment program for alcohol abuse.

Sure, Juan had been arrested for driving drunk, but that was one isolated event. A small lapse in judgement. Just like the arrest for public intoxication last year.

...I like to call my philosophy on life and people, ‘human banking.’ Human banking is just like investment banking but instead of investing in stocks and bonds, I invest in people personally and professionally.

Some investments are pretty safe but others most likely will not deliver a return. In cases where I am making what you might consider a risky human investment, I listen to my heart and move forward even though logic and history say to do otherwise.
